Users Discover Solid Help & Documentation Knowledge Base Getting Involved | Getting Involved as a User
If you're as excited about Solid as the developers are, you're
probably wondering how you can get involved and help out. There are
several ways you can do this, including:
- quality assurance:
as Solid gets put together, we will need people to run it on their
systems and test as many devices as possible. Problems and bugs
encountered need to be
reported back to the developers. And even more important, the Solid
Knowledge Base must also be updated, in the end it'll help both other
users and developers to know what to expect from a particular device.
- documentation: as a new
KDE component, Solid will be in need of documentation. This is a task
that anyone who can write coherently can undertake.
- promotion: if you'd like
to help get the word out about KDE and Solid, there is much in the
way of promotional work that can be done.
- appreciation: it's
amazing how far an encouraging word can go to keeping the spirits of
the developers up when faced with particularly nasty bugs and great
challenges. Dropping a note to the development email list would be a great way to show your support and appreciation. Beer, pizza, gadgets and other developer fuel are also welcome. ;)
Unfortunately, at this point in development it's a bit early for any
of the above to start with earnest, save for perhaps the appreciation.
But certainly check back in the months to come! |
